Ethics and Lead Generation
Are You Abiding By Your Bar Associations Rules of Professional Conduct When You Buy Leads
There are ethical codes of conduct that all licensed attorneys need to comply with or they face potential discipline, including disbarment. These rules cover referral services, advertising and the importance of being honest when communicating with the public. Our Rapid Results Lead Generation program complies with all rules of professional conduct. We’re here to help you grow your practice and help more clients, not get you into trouble.
The biggest ethical concerns that lawyers may have when they pay another to generate leads include whether who they hire might be considered a referral service, fee splitting with non-lawyers and misleading the public. Under your state rules of professional conduct,
- A provider of leads may or may not be considered a referral service,
- You may be subject to potential discipline if you pay for a lead in a way that violates those rules, and,
- The company may develop leads in a way that violates those rules.
Under your rules you probably could be held accountable for the lead generation, advertising and marketing efforts you pay for, so you need to make sure your contractor operates ethically.
Our content is accurate, truthful and not misleading. We can provide you with copies of the advertising and other content that will be used to generate leads for your firm. You will see for yourself we do our job the right way.
We won’t “cheat” by using materials that fail to comply with ethics rules to try to boost the leads you get, because that’s not how we do business. Getting you entangled with your state ethics committee won’t be good for either of us.
We offer advertising and marketing services. We are not a referral service.
- We don’t recommend our clients be anyone’s attorney.
- We don’t endorse or vouch for our clients.
- We can’t analyze a prospect’s legal problems.
- We offer no subjective evaluation whether you should or shouldn’t be contacted or be the person’s legal representative.
Our clients don’t “pay per lead,” we provide a marketing program. We charge a monthly fee designed to lower your cost of client acquisition over time. We will not split fees or charge you based on the outcome of the representation that resulted from a lead we provided you.
Before paying anyone for leads, you should make sure that company’s techniques, practices and content comply with your professional rules of conduct. There are companies that want to make a quick buck and will turn a blind eye toward the rules of professional conduct. That’s not how we operate. Many of our clients are referrals from other clients. That wouldn’t happen if we weren’t both ethical and effective for our clients.
We want long term, successful relationships with our clients because they will benefit us both. If that’s what you’re looking for, contact us for a free consultation and learn more about what we do and how we can help your practice grow.
